The MIDI-MPC2 system uses standard MIDI messages to control the lights and relay switches rather than using DMX512 messages, thus avoiding many of the problems associated with DMX, such as separate dimmer module cost and set-up requirements, and the necessity of an additional message protocol which causes unnecessary complexity in synchronized lighting and musical performances.
